Art has always been a primary factor in my life - even as a child. I was an art major in college with the help of two art scholarships. Since then I've never quit studying, going to seminars and workshops with some of the finest artists in the U.S. I've never quit feeling the compulsion to DO IT.

I love drawing, painting in watercolor, oil, acrylics and pastel, also, printmaking, plainly, creating. I like working on location, in my studio, in situations where many of us pitch in to pay for a model, in a group, or alone. I carry a sketchbook (always) and camera with me (often) to capture incidents I want to hold in my head from which I can draw when I'm composing. I love traveling and often do so with fellow artists and can't wait to record my visual and emotional feelings from those experiences.

I don't believe an artist ever wants to quit growing in his/her work so there is always a new goal to reach for. And, because of that, for me at least, life is never dull but continuously setting forth new challenges.

Marian's work can be found in several personal and corporate collections such as Utah Museum of Fine Art, Springville Art Museum, LDS Church Museum, National John Steinbeck Center, First Interstate, Digital Corp, American Stores and many, many more.
